Appledore Book Festival visit

Appledore Book Festival visitor

We had the great pleasure of hosting author and illustrator, Chloe Savage in Year1 this week. She read to us her book, ‘The Search for the Giant Artic Jellyfish’, which we each got to take a copy home. The illustrations in her book are beautiful!

She taught us how to draw our own imaginative jellyfish and we enjoyed being creative with shape and expression.
We enjoyed her visit so much that we have decided to focus on this text for our English work next week. We will send Chloe Savage some of our work and hope she enjoys seeing how inspired by her work Year 1 has been.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar

In English, we have based our learning on the story, 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar'. Here is a Youtube video. Enjoy watching together and practise orally rehearsing the story.
